With this test we investigate if the dog carries a mutation in the TTC8-gene that was identified as the cause of GR_PRA2. PRA (Progressive Retinal Atrophy) is the name for a group of diseases of the eye. They are characterised by a progressive degeneration of the retina that eventually leads to blindness. GR_PRA2 is a type of PRA with a late-onset of the disease that only occurs in Golden Retriever dogs. It is in an autosomal recessively inherited disease.
