The analysis determines the extent of individual inbreeding on the basis of 60,000 SNP markers.
Low inbreeding is considered an indicator of generally better fitness.
This is reflected in better health, greater physical condition and greater alertness.
Application:
- Clarification of the individual inbreeding status in the case of significantly reduced fitness
- Planning of matings taking into account the individual genetic diversity
Only with generatio all three relevant parameters are determined:
1) Level of heterozygosity (HE)
2) GIK = genomic inbreeding coefficient
3) ROH profile: size and position of the inbreeding areas
